You can choose to keep the power of yourself with you because we usually don’t realize that when we keep thinking about the past, we dismiss ourselves and our emotions for someone or something; we give away our power to that person, thing, or event in the past, and as a result, we give away our power and ability to change.

Moreover, living in the past also validates all the traumas and backstabbings we’ve had in our life.

Isn’t it true that living in the safety and comfort of the known past is a lot safer than stepping out into the unknown future?

When a significant, intense event occurs in our life, our mind takes that incident and stores the memories of that event.

In the future, when something similar happens, our mind gets the same connection activated as per neurochemistry and then it becomes our state of mind.

Now firstly, when you don’t let go of the past, and you wake up in the morning and start to think about your troubles, the moment that troubled you, you still live in the past. 

Secondly, these thoughts act as your brain language, and ultimately, they are used to programming your unconscious mind for your present and the future.

How easy do you feel when you think of changing something?

So you see, not letting go of this past becomes a vicious cycle of all the negative emotions.

Thus, if those negative emotions drive your thoughts, and you can’t think more significantly than how you feel, you are thinking in the past.

By this point, your brain is already thinking about how to break the cycle for a better future?

Here are some helpful tips to free yourself from the past:

1)For a better future, start with a journal and write down your negative thoughts, behaviours, and emotions that you’re no longer going to live. 

Note down what stressed you in the day and review them from time to time and find out do you find any similarities? Letting go of your past and for better future it will help to find any unconscious strategy that your mind is running that you don’t know!

Imagine it’s like a pond of fishes. You can see some while others are hiding and when you catch those hidden fishes by acknowledging them.

2) Now, note the new or the alternate thought you want to fire and wire in your brain. Once you know, make a routine every day to consciously think about fire and wire them in your brain until they become your conscious habit, and that may take a week or a month based on how religiously practice this. Letting go of your past is easy when you remember each day of this new behaviour. Rehearse the behaviours you’re going to demonstrate in your life. 

It may also include a practice of closing your eyes and sitting in a relaxed state, beginning to install the neurological program.

Lastly, every time you do this practice, consciously make an effort to teach your body that your future will be promising and you will emotionally be able to define your destiny.
